Regional Support for Health Care Researchers

For health researchers planning to submit bids in 2018, the NIHR Research Design Services East of England (RDS EoE) has planned a programme of regional support. These regional events enable researchers to take advantage of their advice and feedback

Bid development workshops – 2018

These are for bids at the first or second draft stage, where the objectives are clearly formulated. Participants should be the principal investigator and/or one other member of the team.
At the workshop, the participant/research team will be expected to present a summary of their research proposal to the researchers and the RDS staff from whom they will obtain general feedback. Research applicants will also have an opportunity to receive project specific feedback from specialists in areas such as health economics, statistics and public involvement.

Pre-Submission Panels – 2018

These are for teams whose proposals are near completion and who wish to receive RDS comments just prior to submission. This panel replicates the NIHR’s funding committee and aims to provide feedback consisting of the panel’s view of any fixable and non-fixable faults of the proposal and readiness for submission.
Proposers do not need to attend, but should send their completed bids to their RDS key adviser. Key advisers will give feedback to the proposers as soon as possible after the meeting. Any bid nearing completion and within a few weeks of submission will be considered; the number of places is unlimited.

Please see the flyer for further information.
