New resources available to support NIHR staff in spreading the word about research
The NIHR is pleased to announce the launch of a new package of resources to support NIHR staff in raising awareness of research amongst non-research clinical and care staff. It also provides resources for staff to support more patients to get involved in research opportunities.
The launch is indirect response to feedback received from a survey to NIHR Clinical Research Network frontline staff, including research nurses. The survey explored how the NIHR could better support its funded staff in establishing and delivering more research, as well as encouraging more clinical and care staff to get involved. The results showed there was a need to strengthen the support available to staff and this has resulted in new materials being developed. Better promotion of existing materials designed to support staff on the frontline has also been undertaken.
Case studies which explore initiatives that have successfully engaged staff and patients in research are included in the package. There is also a toolkit providing resources and materials to help engage a range of colleagues in health research.
