Allied Health Professionals (AHPS) Research Champion Roles – apply now!
The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) are pleased to announce that applications are now open for their AHP Research Champion roles.
Are you passionate about AHPs being research-active and having an impact on patient care? Do you have ideas about how we engage and support AHPs to be research-active in NHS and social care settings?
NIHR and CAHPR want to add to their community of role models and research activists to champion the work of AHPs and to get more AHPs to be aware of and involved in health and social care research for the benefit of patients.
Their vision is to widen and strengthen their community of voluntary leaders and influencers who appreciate the value of being research-active at an individual, team and an organisational level, are willing to share that passion with fellow professionals and organisational leaders to help build more research capacity, and to increase the visibility of AHPs’ work in health and social care settings.
They’re looking for people who:
- Understand research and the benefits it brings to patients, the local health and care system and meeting population needs
- Appreciate the challenges for individuals to develop a clinical academic career and engage in research.
- Are inspired about working with NHS, NIHR and CAHPR colleagues to connect research-active people and progress solutions together.
Working as a cohort, AHP research champions will increase the visibility and impact of research-active AHPs in line with AHPs into Action and the NIHR AHPs in research strategy.
If the above resonates with you, NIHR and CAHPR would love to hear from you.
Application deadline noon 13 September 2018
