NIHR Webinar: How Clinical Academic Careers can benefit the whole NHS

A guide to the ICA programme for NHS managers
Tuesday 12 December at 11am

The Health Education England (HEE) and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA) Programme provides personal research training awards for healthcare professionals (excluding doctors and dentists) who wish to develop careers that combine clinical research and research leadership with continued clinical practice and clinical development.

Managers of aspiring and developing clinical academics can find it challenging to release staff to participate in research programmes, even when funding is provided to support backfill, particularly in speciality areas.

This special one-hour webinar specifically aimed at managers of clinical academics/aspiring clinical academics will demonstrate how managers have made clinical academic career development work for their departments and their staff.

The webinar will be presented by:
Professor Joanne Cooper, Assistant Director of Nursing (Research, Innovation and Professional Regulation) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Visiting Professor at Coventry University and Senior Research Fellow, University of Nottingham
Pete Thompson, Assistant Director at the NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre

There will be a 30 minute presentation and 30 minute live Q&A session.
