The Southern Institute for Health Informatics (SIHI) are hosting their annual conference at the Univeristy of Portsmouth, with the theme ‘Safe and effective medicines: Informatics for best practice’

In accordance with the ‘personalised care’ IT strategy for the NHS in England, the medicines optimisation framework aims to have a positive influence on patient engagement and compliance. This pins its hopes on patient self-management reducing demand for NHS services. The digital health and the safety and quality aims of medicines optimisation are closely aligned. This conference will highlight the opportunities this presents and the challenges that need to be overcome.

Speakers include:

  • Ann Slee, e-Prescribing Lead, NHS England
  • Dr Catherine Duggan, Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Professor Jeremy Wyatt, University of Southampton
  • Professor Martin Stephens, Wessex Local Professional Network – Pharmacy
  • Ravi Sharma, Lead GP Practice Pharmacist, Green Light Pharmacy
