University of Cambridge Careers Service Event: Making it in Academia

Academia is the career that the Careers Service gets asked most about and it’s a more diverse job market than most people think.

The event is free and includes lunch and time to talk to the speakers 1:1. Join them on Thursday 11th Jan for their flagship event on academic careers to:

• Hear from senior academics on how to succeed in lectureship/PI interviews

• Understand if lectureships/PI jobs require the same achievements

• Find a job which matches talents and achievements

• Get ideas to gain research independence

There is a fantastic line up of speakers from a wide range of institutions in the UK and abroad.

Speakers include:

Professor Gerard Evan, Head of Dept of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge and Dr. Mariann Bienz, Group Leader and Joint Division Head, MRC LMB, Cambridge on applications and the dreaded lectureship/PI interview
