Dr Rhian Simpson qualified from University College Hospital in 1990, and did an M. Phil. in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge in 1995. She completed her MD “Determinants of Osteoporosis: A longitudinal Study” in 1999. Rhian completed her postgraduate training in Peterborough and Cambridge and was appointed a Consultant Community Geriatrician in 2003. Her areas of interest are Rehabilitation, Care Home Medicine and Frailty, particularly at the end of Life. Rhian's project for her CLAHRC Fellowship is titled: "Older peoples priorities for End of Life Care (EoLC).". She hopes to interview a group of older people to determine what their preferences are for EoLC, and to use this information to develop services that support their wishes.
